Bangkok Trip: Day 3
Date: 13 July 08 (Sunday), 7.30am (8.30am inSingapore)
Today is the Shopping Day!!! Eh... but not so excited... ha ha.. probably because both of us are not shoppers. So we're actually not so crazy about going shopping.
The 1st stop of the day is Chatuchak Weekend Market. We were told before hand to go there early preferably leave the place by noon as it'll get very very hot & scotching. But as usual, it always take us very long to get out of bed. So we only left hotel at 10am. Ha ha...
10.30am: Starting of shopping time...
This is the Weekend Market. As we were busy looking around, didn't really take photos. This place is so big that it's impossible to 'conquer' this place in just one morning. But we went to the essential places like the clothes section & we also went to look at the pets... The little puppies sold were so cute... Really make you feel like wanting a puppy after seeing them..
Along the way, we saw this interesting product that this lady is promoting - Colour hair wax. You can apply them on your hair and you get temporary dyed hair in all sorts of fanciful colours with shimmer also.
By around 1.30pm to 2pm, we left the place to go back to hotel for a shower & break before going for shopping spree round 2. Previously, I spoted a A&W outlet along the road when we were traveling on cab back to hotel. So this time, we purposely went to hunt for this A&W outlet.
When we were about to give up on it, from far, we saw this orange & brown coloured banner. A&W!!!!
At then, we were soooooo happy because this outlet is quite far away from the shopping areas. It's actually located at quite some distance from Asia Hotel. So it's an achievement!
Yay!!! Our tea break - Waffle & Root beer float~! Yum yum... It's been so long since I last ate A&W. So it was really really enjoying.
After eating, we headed towards Platinum Mall. When we were about to reach that shopping mall, we realised that the building besides Platinum Mall have a bigger A&W outlet. At then, we felt so stupid & cheaped. Should have just headed straight to Platinum Mall & it'll save us all the trouble hunting for the other A&W outlet. Haiz...
At Platinum Mall, there were too much to shop & see - So much that we don't know what to look for & what to buy. Like I said, we're not good shoppers, so we were tired (or rather I was tired) pretty soon after shopping for 2 rounds of 1 level.
So we went back to hotel around 6+ to 7pm to get ready for dinner & to go chill-out.
On the way for dinner, we found another big Naraya outlet across the road & look! There's an elephant!!! Woaw.....
Dinner is planned to go Spring & Summer. From the map, it's pretty near our hotel. So to save money, we decided to walk there. Little did we expect, we got lost even with the map & we got ourselves to some deserted place with not a single road lamp. OMG!!!
After asking a few passers-by, we finally managed to get to this restaurant!! Well... this place really looks quite good with good ambience... so the effort is really paid off...
And... here comes our food..... yum yum.....
The food were too good... That we can't manage another serving of dessert. So we decided to go to our next stop to chill out - Bed SupperClub. But before that... take some snaps of this wonderful place. If I were to re-visit Bangkok, I'll definitely come again...
Learning our lesson, we took a cab to Bed SupperClub. Woaw... a special looking place that looks like a space shuttle. At the entrance, the bouncer said that we need our passports in order to enter, which we didn't bring along. Luckily, & cleverly, my boy made an advance reservation online back in Singapore. So with the confirmation, they actually let us enter... phew... the entrance fee costs quite a fair bit. But well well... since we're here... just enter then...
The area where we were guided to is the black area, but actually we're more curious about the white area. The seats are like sofa beds where you got to remove your footwear & climb up the seats & lean back.
Oh ya... entrance comes with 2 free drinks. So it's still not so bad... ha ha.. and here's our drinks...
Before leaving, we sneak into the white area to have a peep. Hmm... cool... but well... I think I've gotten used to the black area. The white area doesn't seem as appealing as before...
We realised that we came too early (arrived at 10.30pm) that most of the guests were not here yet. The place only starts to get lively at 2am.... but by then I was really quite sleepy already... So we left after finishing our drinks, go back to hotel to rest...
Actually we didn't really leave that place early also... around near 1am... but still... well well... it's ok... another time then....
