Working life...

When you are new to a company, there are many things you don't know. So whatever people ask you to do, you'll just follow the instructions and do. This is when all the sai gang (屎工 in Hokkien) comes in. Your boss call you to do sai gang, you still have to do... Can you say "no"? Obviously not... what to do... Just have to bear with it lor...

Haiz... that's working life...

Ok.. enough of that... Just to share a funny conversation that happened to my colleagues.
I have a few colleagues who are more "English- speaking". So their mandarin is not very good. So this colleague, call her Ms. A, was saying that 道明寺 and 道明"士" sounded the same, but obviously they are different. So everyone was trying to explain to her why they are different but she still don't get it. Then another colleague, call him Mr. B, who is also "English-speaking" came and attempted to explain using an analogy in English language. This is what he said.
"They are different. 1 is si and 1 is shi. You see, for example in English, sitting down and shitting down are different."
Then our Ms. A finally understand the difference...
